SHCI presents Michael Fracasso & Kevin Russell.

When Michael Fracasso first moved to Austin, TX in 1990 another songwriter described him as “Buddy Holly, if he had gone to college.” His lyrics got him short listed for the Austin Public Library award for Literary Achievement in 2011 and allowed him to tour the world behind 8 albums of original material singing with friends along the way such as Patty Griffin and Lucinda Williams. He also wrote with his friend and producer Charlie Sexton the music for the movie Natural Selection. They are currently collaborating on a new CD, Big Top, due out in early 2019 on Lucky Hound Records.

Kevin Russell’s roots go deep in NWLA. Founding member of the local act Picket Line Coyotes, then lead vocalist for Austin’s The Gourds (http://www.thegourds.com/) and wildly popular act Shinyribs (http://shinyribs.org), Kevin Russell is known as the bearded Buddha of contemporary Texas semi-acoustic roots music.
