About Us

Shreveport

House Concert

series

We started with the “house concert” idea (performances hosted in people’s homes) and made it better. Our shows are a step up from in-home with more seating, better lighting and quality sound. But hey, we like homey, too, so the small stage and surroundings beckon back to a “living room” look and feel. We love the intimacy of our shows.

Studio 1508, where we hold our series, is located at 1508 Fairfield Ave. in Shreveport. We’ve been making music inside these walls since 2004 when we were formed by the late Dana McCommon, who originally started the series with a group of independent volunteers.

Since our inception we’ve had dozens of artists walk through these doors, and it’s because of our generous sponsors and community partners. We’re fortunate to have such a wonderful group of people and businesses support us and our mission.

When you’re at a Shreveport House Concert Series show, just know that you’re here with family. Our crowd is a warm and welcoming bunch. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting to all. Remember, this is an all volunteer effort so do expect some weirdness and have a flexible attitude!

Feel free to bring the beverage of your choice (along with cups, etc.). We welcome cash to donate towards the wonderful catered food served at intermission. There is also is water, sodas and coffee provided for each event. More volunteers and sponsors (to help keep this thing rolling) are always welcomed!
